What is dot-tag?
dot-tag is a template based publishing system for Extensis Portfolio MySQL or MSSQL. A deployed portfolio dot-tag system has built in user and group management, allowing tiered groups of administrators to manage other administrators, external users and directly edit the Extensis Portfolio data in a two way method.
dot-tag has been created with simplicity in mind, so it can be used and managed by anyone with a basic understanding of html. If you really want to get personal, portfolio dot-tag retains wider potential with fully customisable templates and skinnable interfaces, so deploying that new interface for your customers will be a doddle.
How does it work?
A dot-tag deployment consists of a set of templates, visual support files and a configuration file which plugs into one or more of your existing Extensis Portfolio databases. Once a system is deployed, it is managed directly from the administration interface and all system parameters can be set or changed using your favourite web browser, so you don’t need to be a technical expert.
Templates consist of standard (X)HTML, Javascript and any other visual markup code with the additional of “tags” that serve as placeholders for displaying data from an Extensis Portfolio MySQL or MSSQL database. In addition, data can be integrated from your other data sources where required.
